A significant part of wrinkle cream is vitamin A. Of course, each product will want you to believe that its the best at smoothing away wrinkles. Actually, a lot of the use sneaky tricks to make you believe that they are working. These include adding small pieces of glitter to wrinkle removing creams. Glitter will actually cast the light out of the creases in your skin. This gives the illusion that your wrinkles have completely disappeared. So if you use these creams containing glitter, you will watch your money go down the drain when you wash your face.
If you are playing the anti-aging game for keeps, then you need to know about vitamin A. Retinol is vitamin A. Wrinkles will disappear with regular use. This process can take a few days or even a week or two. You should be worried. You will see a change soon enough.
Retinol actually causes your skin to stay elastic. Moreover, when using skin care products that contain retinol you skin will retain moisture. If you use enough it can even “plump†your wrinkles so that they are stretched tight and smoothed out.
Before using retinol you need to know of al the associated complications. The biggest complication would be sun sensitivity. Whether you are taking vitamin A or using it topically, it can make you extremely sensitive to the sun. You will burn more easily on sunny days if you go outside for very long. Of course, if you are worried about fighting wrinkles then you have no business outside without a sunblock on your face anyway!
In addition, vitamin A has the potential to cause problems for those people with very sensitive skin. Common effects (other than the disappearance of wrinkles) are breakouts and dry skin. These are the results you usually get if you use to much of the vitamin A treatments. If you are worried, then test your vitamin A product on the inside of your elbow. Place a small dab on there twice a day for a week. If there is no redness or inflammation, you should be okay. However, watch your skin and pay attention to the way it feels and looks to be sure that you are in good shape.
I have one more warning. You should follow the directions exactly. Vitamin A is not for people who just want to slather on any old moisturizer and feel good about “protecting†their skin. Its for those who who don’t mess around when it comes to their skin care regimen. Vitamin A can permanently erase wrinkles in many cases, so make sure that you are using it to get the best effects possible.
