I have had hemorrhoids for about 3 years off and on. I have used over the counter meds. My doctor has perscribed supporsitories and onintment when the over the counter no longer worked. My doctor thinks surgery is not needed at this time. Besides fiber and water which I know are importatnt is there are there any natural meds or any other treatments worth trying that won’t be a waste of money. Doctors and sufferers of hemorrhoids please respond only. Thanks
Hey, I totally understand what you are going through. When I was pregnant I was beside my self with Hemorrhoids and the doctor said that it would go away after I had the baby, but, it never did. So after I kept going back to my Doctor and him saying the same thing I decided to get another opinion. Anyway I did and in fact I did have to get them surgically removed, ever since that I have never had a problem, so with that being said I think you should get a second opinion and get them removed.
Good luck
Your fellow sufferer. LOL.

How long for an external hemorrhoid to resolve / go away?
I did about 12 hours of flying on the last of 8 days of travel and suffered some irregularity during those 8 days. The day after returning was spent in the bathroom while my body got rid of everything.
Now I have what appears to be an Thrombosed External Hemorrhoid. (looked it up on the internet)
It is about the size of a blueberry to view with the inside feeling about the size of a pea and very painful.
Is it possible for this to resolve on it’s own or will I need medical intervention? The info I got on the internet did not really cover the healing part except when surgical means were taken.
It may go away on its own, but the problem can recur as well. Most people do have hemorrhoids but don’t know it because they are usually internal ones and may not cause much trouble. Straining while having bowel movements can push them outside the body. Eating a high fiber diet will help lessen the chances of this. You can use a cream to try to relieve the symptoms. However if it continues or becomes really bothersome to you, get it checked out by a doctor because you may need to have them surgically removed.
How To Get Rid Of Painful Hemorrhoids In 48 HOURS!
I am having some bleeding from my bottom when I go to the toilet. I gave birth to my daughter 14 months ago and did get hemorrhoids but used cream and the symptoms seemed to ease. I do not suffer from constipation but still get bleeding most times when I go. The blood is dark red and sometimes has small clots. I seem to have a skin tag or something which I dont think is a hemorrhoid as it has been there for a long time before I had my daughter and never caused me any problems. I went to my doctor when the bleeding first started quite bad and she said I had a fissure. This was a few months ago and so would have thought it would have cleared up by now. Has anyone else had this? Did it clear up? Did you need any treatment?
Sorry for the gross question lol.
The truth is about hemorrhoids is that they don’t often go away. Fissures in the rectal canal can easily develop and recur depending on the consistency of the stool. You mentioned that the blood is dark red. What about the color of the stool? If it is black, it can suggest a whole other problem (ie: ulcers in the upper GI tract). Also, is it painful when you pass the stool?
