I would recommend you to try natural treatment that is attacking the root of the problem.
It is said that precaution is the best treatment for any disease. You must take precautions to avoid occurrence of Hemorrhoid. Though, hemorrhoid is not serious in nature still it can give you pain and make you uncomfortable. Rectal bleeding is considered as main symptom of Hemorrhoid. It is not necessary that every occurrence of stool blood is hemorrhoid symptom. However, such bleeding is indicative of some serious disease. Early diagnostic and timely treatment can give you relief from hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids are treated as per their type-internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids which occur during pregnancy can be treated with minor treatments. Usually, Hemorrhoids can be removed by minor operations. Generally, hemorrhoid surgery is recommended for internal hemorrhoids with severe pain/bleeding.
External hemorrhoids can be treated at home for immediate temporary relief. One of such methods is method is warm water sittings. You can use lukewarm water in a tub – may add pinch of iodine- and sit in the tub. You have to repeat this procedure everyday. The results of this procedure will provide you relief from irritation and itching caused by hemorrhoids.
Dietary control is another way of getting relief from hemorrhoids. Use plenty of fluid in your diet. Take fibrous diet. This liquid and fibrous diet helps in softening and easy passing of motion. As a result of this diet control, you need not to apply pressure for motion. Pressure is once of the causes of aggravation and bleeding hemorrhoids.
Regular exercise also helps in easy passing of tools. This method is successful mainly in pregnant women. There is a simple exercise for pregnant women to get relief from hemorrhoids. You have to just lie down on your back for 15 to 20 minutes. This relieves the pressure on affected veins and reduces pain.
Apart from these home methods, there are certain methods which are non-surgical in nature and can be performed in clinics.
Rubber band method is considered easy way of hemorrhoid treatment. In this method affected veins are tied with a rubber band. This rubber band curtails the blood flow towards affected veins which results in disappearing of hemorrhoid.
The other non-surgical treatment is coagulation therapy. In this method affected tissues are removed with the help of scalp. You can use scleo-therapy for getting relief from hemorrhoids. In this method certain chemicals are injected to gain relief from hemorrhoids.
Usually, for advanced and severely paining hemorrhoids, surgery is conducted to get fast relief.
Above information is only for education purposes. Your doctor will be the best man to guide you on right treatment of hemorrhoid after considering seriousness of the disease and other relevant factors.

Early hemorrhoid treatment to reduce size/swelling?
As of two days ago, I now have internal hemorrhoids with no symptoms others than protrusion when I “squeeze” (for lack of a better term). No bleeding, no discoloration, etc… Actually, no discomfort at all, until I try to use the bathroom… I was reading that “rue oil” may be effective at reducing the size? Has anyone used, or know anyone who has used this method? Any other options/personal knowledge on the issue? I am very young to be going through this (22) and if there is ANY known non-surgical way to decrease the size, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks.
Go to the doctor and get a prescription for proctofoam (i think I spelled it right) It is a foam you put up your old address for lack of better terms. Works ok but get two containers.
External hemorrhoids can also become thrombosed. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids are blood clots on the inside of the hemorrhoid. These clots are very painful while walking and especially during bowel movements. Thrombosed hemorrhoids can be seen with the naked eye as they are a protrusion within the hemorrhoid and can be diagnosed by touch. They are hard to the touch and are small and raisin like.
These thrombosed hemorrhoids will become darker in color, sort of purplish, as they are actually strangling the vein and plugging it so the blood can’t flow out. While these thrombosed hemorrhoids are quite painful, and can look pretty bad, depending on the severity of the surgery may or may not be needed.
Natural Remedies for Thrombosed Hemorrhoids
One treatment that can help with a thrombosed hemorrhoid is to just leave it alone. If you are following recommended treatments for hemorrhoids (such as fiber in diet, more liquids, sitz bath, ice packs, etc.) then the clot can be absorbed by the body of a period of time. If there is no discernable reduction in size after a few days then you should seek other alternatives.
Hot baths and creams can also play a big part in the treatment of a thrombosed hemorrhoid. Heat from a hot bath can cause the veins to enlarge thus creating a way for the trapped blood to escape taking away the clot. Creams have also been known to alleviate the pain and discomfort of the hemorrhoid until further action is required.
Surgical Option for Thrombosed Hemorrhoids
Many experts agree, though, that surgery is necessary for the removal of a thrombosed hemorrhoid. While the surgery isn’t dangerous at all, there is always a risk involved and this option should be carefully thought about.
The surgical procedure is pretty straightforward. The surgeon makes a small incision over the clot and then squeezes it out of the incision. While the result is immediate, there is one major side effect to having a thrombosed hemorrhoid removed surgically. After the clot is removed there is almost always more clots forming causing more pain and discomfort.
Surgery for the thrombosed hemorrhoid is best done within the first 3 days of noticing the clot. After this time period a more extensive surgery may have to take place called a full Hemorrhoidectomy. This procedure removes the clot and the hemorrhoidal veins. This is a much longer procedure with an extensive recovery.

There are many natural or folk remedies for hemorrhoids. They tend to be safe and inexpensive, so they are certainly worth trying. Here are several different ones.
Alum Hemorrhoid Treatment
Alum is a type of salt that has traditionally been used in canning and can be found in the spice section of the grocery store. To use it to treat hemorrhoids you simply dissolve a teaspoon of Alum (powdered) in a glass of water and apply it to the hemorrhoid.
Cayenne Pepper Hemorrhoid Treatment
This is a new one to me, but I have come across it several times in my research, so I thought it would be worth mentioning. Dissolve a half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of the pepper in a cup of water and drink daily until your hemorrhoids are gone. Cayenne pepper is thought to improve blood flow all over the body.
Ecchinacea Hemorrhoid Remedy
This is a popular herb that is purported to strengthen the immune system when taken internally, but for the case of relieving hemorrhiodal pain, you should use a liquid suspension (available in health food stores) and apply it directly to the hemorrhoid.
Witch Hazel Hemorrhoid Pain Relief
This is a natural mild astringent and is widely available in the face cleaning sections of supermarkets and drug stores. Apply directly to the hemorrhoid tissues with a cotton ball for an instant soothing effect.
Of all of the treatments listed above, I have personal experience with the witch hazel and have found it to be helpful. There are many other proven ways to treat your hemorrhoids.
