Hemorrhoids are an uncomfortable and embarrassing fact of life for millions of people around the world, particularly the middle-aged and elderly living relatively sedentary lives. Hemorrhoid treatment can vary from topical ointments to surgical intervention, depending on the severity of the case. Western medicine often concerns itself primarily with targeting the symptoms, and not paying much attention to the contributing factors. Thankfully, the condition can often be prevented with a few precautions.

Hemorrhoids, also known as Piles, are enlarged veins that protrude inside the rectum. They can cause a painful, burning sensation in the rectum, discomfort in sitting, and make bowel movements an unpleasant affair. It is estimated that up to 85% of the elderly population of North America require hemorrhoids treatment at some point. They are often caused by extensive sitting and standing, straining while having a bowel movement as a result of constipation, lifting of heavy objects in such a way as to cause undue strain in the rectum, and possibly be hereditary.

Hemorrhoids Treatment

There is a wide variety of hemorrhoids treatment available today, from the standard Western medical approach to naturapath holistic methods. Each has its own level of risk, cost and effectiveness. Here is an overview:

Medical Hemorrhoids Treatment

The most common treatment is a topical cream which reduces swelling. There are various brand names available over-the-counter, and some prescription only creams. More invasive methods include cryogenic freezing, called ‘scelerotherapy’, done by injecting directly into the hemorrhoid. Another surgical method is to apply a rubber band ligature, which cuts off the circulation and then they either fall off or are cut out.

Acupuncture Hemorrhoids Treatment

Acupuncture is a healing method which has been practiced in China for thousands of years. Acupuncture affects the central nervous system, and works by focusing on the general health and immune system of the patient, rather than on specific symptoms. Acupuncture hemorrhoids treatment can be quite effective.

Herbal Hemorrhoids Treatment

When using an herbal treatment, it is best to begin by having a warm soak in a bath or sitz bath. Adding epsom salts can help reduce swelling. The Japanese Pagoda tree has properties that are believed to strengthen vein walls, and improve circulation. Bioflavonoids and Horse chestnut are also known to have positive effect. After the bath, ointment containing the herbs can be applied topically directly to the affected area and left overnight.

Diet Considerations

When it comes to finding an effective hemorrhoids treatment, there is none better than focusing directly on diet. This is because they are often caused by straining during constipation, and constipation is a direct result of poor diet. Rule number one is: drink plenty of water. Most Americans are chronically dehydrated, and not even aware of it. Second rule is to eat a diet high in fibre. Great sources of fibre are psyllium seeds, beets, green beans, cabbage, citrus fruits and oats. Any high vegetable diet will do. Also highly effective is to take one to two tablespoons of flax seed oil daily, and drink mild chamomile tea, a natural regulator. In cases of extreme constipation, laxatives can help but they mustn’t be taken on an ongoing basis.

The best method of hemorrhoids treatment is to pay careful attention to the diet, and be sure to eat plenty of fibre and drink plenty of water. Use herbal remedies and soothing baths to ease immediate symptoms, but in the long run it is a healthy diet that will be the most effective hemorrhoids treatment you can have.

The simplest hemorrhoid treatment is the sitz bath. All you need to do is to soak in your bath filled with plain warm water for about 15 minutes several times a day. This treatment can help reduce the itch and pain caused by your hemorrhoids. While this may be a good way for pain relief, you will still need to seek medical treatment for the long term hemorrhoids cure.

Next, you may want to consider using medicated pads that contain witch hazel after bowel movement. Avoid using regular dry toilet paper because it will irritate the external hemorrhoids. Witch hazel is a key ingredient to this medication and is recommended because it is an astringent that will help reduce the swelling as well as the pain of having hemorrhoids. Once again, medicated pads offer only temporary relief and do not cure your hemorrhoids completely.

To get rid of your hemorrhoids once and for all, you should use hemorrhoids treatment cream. A good hemorrhoid cream can provide instant pain or itch relief as well as cure and treat hemorrhoids permanently.

Hemorrhoids are swollen veins that are found in the rectum or anus. The swelling is a result of strain during bowel movement. Pregnancy, chronic constipation and diarrhea also cause an increased pressure in the rectum resulting in hemorrhoids.

There are 2 types of hemorrhoids, external and internal. External hemorrhoids, as the name implies, refers to hemorrhoid located outside the anus. It feels like a small lump that is sensitive to the touch. An external hemorrhoid is usually itchy and irritating. It is also a lot more painful than internal hemorrhoids.

On the other hand, internal hemorrhoids usually do not hurt and they definitely do not hurt as much as an external hemorrhoid even when it does. They are found inside your rectum itself and may occasionally bleed.

The most common symptom of hemorrhoids is blood on toilet paper or in the toilet bowl after bowel movement (this is especially true in the case of internal hemorrhoids – another symptom is an odd itch inside your rectum). As for external hemorrhoids, they can be detected easily because the main symptoms are irritation around the anus as well as painful swelling. There may also be sensitive lumps around the anus area.

While hemorrhoids are not life threatening, it can be extremely painful and cause a lot of discomfort while forcing you to forgo a lot of the activities that you enjoy. There are many forms of treatment available to get rid of hemorrhoids and you will learn more about them in the next email.

How to avoid Hemorrhoid operation? Pls help!?

Dear friends, I am getting scared when i surf net when i read about Hemorrhoids and piles because for the past 3 years (i know its too much of time) i am feeling a pulling pain in my anal after bowel movement which is rare and mostly during night between 3-5 am. For the past 3 years only once i saw blood with the stool. I am feeling shy to show to the doctor which i know is not wise (planning to meet doctor soon). How to find out myself whether it is a internal or external hemorrhoid and is it curable and what should i do to avoid any operation. Please don’t send 2 line answer i need in detail. Thank you for your concern.
I am 32 and unmarried.

Hey, to find out whether it’s a hemorrhoid or not I suggest taking a good look at the symptoms – I’ve briefly outlined 5 of the main ones for you below:.

1. The first hemorrhoid symptom is bright red blood in or on the stool, or blood on the toilet paper. If you notice streaks of blood in or on the stool or on the toilet paper during or after bowel movement then it’s fairly likely that you have hemorrhoids.

2. The second hemorrhoid symptom is when you have a feeling that you can’t finish passing a stool. You may have noticed that not matter how hard you try – you just can’t pass the stool

3. Another hemorrhoid symptom is itching sensation inside or at the entrance to the anal canal. This symptom is noticed by the vast majority of hemorrhoid sufferers with various degrees of pain.

4. The fourth hemorrhoid symptom is relevant for those suffering from external hemorrhoids. Lumps or mounds of flesh will be able to be seen around the anus. These can vary in size from about as big as a pea to bigger than a golf ball.

5. Mucus emissions are a slightly less common symptom of hemorrhoids but it is worth mentioning here because it does occur in some people.

So – what to do next…

For lasting cures I suggest you look at natural products such as H Miracle or Venapro. Both are affordable options that have been proven to work thousands of times over.

In the mean time, here’s a quick summary of what you should be doing right now:
Food – eat lots of fiber (fruit and veges)

Water – drink heaps, at least 8 glasses
Exercise – if possible (im not sure in your case), try to do at least 20 minutes per day.

Avoid spicy foods.

Pain relief – try a sitz bath in hot water and applying chipped ice to the wound 2-3 times per day.

For more in depth information about hemorrhoids I suggest you take a look at the links highlighted below.

Hope this helps,

Home Remedies and Natural Treatments for Constipation

Natural treatments for constipation are not only easy to use and highly effective, but they support good bowel health overall. As this simple condition that is experienced by many can often lead to other more complicated issues further down the line, such as a weakened immune system, hemorroids, and toxic fecal impaction, it is enormously important that constipation be avoided at all costs. However, when constipation does occur, natural treatments are the most effective, safest way of relieving this condition.

A key component of good health is having a healthy bowel movement daily. In situations in which this doesn’t occur, it can often be a case in which the constipation is driven by less than conducive lifestyle habits. Constipation is generally defined as a person having a bowel movement between zero and three times per week.

When a person who is experiencing constipation finally does have a bowel movement, the stool is usually painful or uncomfortable in passing. The stool is also typically hard, dry and is expelled in small pieces. Even though a bowel movement may have occurred, this condition usually is linked to a bowel that is not completely emptied, which again will bring about further tummy and anal discomfort.

Although constipation is most often caused by a poor diet and poor lifestyle choices, other conditions, such as pregnancy, aging, hypothyroidism, irritable bowel syndrome, laxative abuse, certain medications, and a habit of purposely avoiding bowel movements may cause constipation. While over the counter and traditional medical interventions do well to address the condition, they are not without risk of side effects, nor do such treatments address the root cause of this condition. On the other hand, natural treatments for constipation help in addressing the symptoms, as well as help in correcting the lifestyle imbalances that originally caused the constipation.

Eating foods that are high in fiber is one of the best, most obvious ways of naturally treating constipation. Even though this may seem quite east to get on top off and carry out, many of us do not consume nearly enough fiber each day within their diet. To correct this, those prone to constipation should increase their intake of foods high in fiber, such as apples, peaches, flaxseed, oatmeal, bananas, whole grain foods and other fresh vegetables. They should also increase their fluid intake by drinking water, unsweetened fruit juices, and vegetable juices.

By supplemeting with certain foods, there are also other foods that should be utterly avoided. Some of these include processed sugar, processed flour, fast food, caffeine, alcohol, cheese, and meat. As often as you can, the foods mentioned should be replaced with foods that are high in fiber, or better yet completely removed from the diet.

Regular exercise is also crucial in maintaining a healthy bowel and treating constipation. Daily exercise that involves at least 30 minutes of movement is helpful in increasing circulation and optimizing intestinal function. Daily walking, jogging, yoga, tai chi and other mild to moderate exercise is recommended.

By treating constipation naturally, a person is able to, not only correct the bad habits that led to the original bout of constipation, but can safely avoid its recurrence. Natural treatments for constipation have been safely and effectively used for generations to treat this common discomfort and are completely without risk or side effects. In making simple diet and lifestyle changes, constipation can be corrected, as a host of other conditions can also be avoided in the process.

Blood in the Stool

Any process within the intestinal tract that causes bleeding can result in blood in the toilet or on your undergarments. Hemorrhoidal bleeding is usually scant, a few drops or sometimes as much as a couple of teaspoons. If you feel weak, light-headed, or dizzy combined with more significant blood loss, seek medical attention immediately. There are a number of potential causes of intestinal bleeding, some of which can be serious. Small bleeds may be a warning of a larger bleed to come.

Never assume that bleeding is from hemorrhoids, especially if you are over age 40 or have no history of previous hemorrhoid problems. If you have black and/or tar-like stools, see a doctor immediately. Gastrointestinal specialists use upper and/or lower endoscopy (long telescopic probes with a leading video camera inserted via the mouth or anus) to diagnose gastrointestinal bleeding. If they cannot determine the source of bleeding with endoscopy, they might use a nuclear scan or even angiography (a dye study of the arteries) in the investigation.

Hemorrhoids

Most often, bright red blood with a bowel movement is due to bleeding from hemorrhoid veins. Hemorrhoid bleeding may occur when enlarged and inflamed blood vessels that line the anal canal rupture. You may also experience pain with defecation or anal itching. Enlarged hemorrhoids are caused by excessive and repeated pressure on the rectum caused by constipation, straining, or prolonged sitting. Often a bout of diarrhea precedes the symptoms of inflamed hemorrhoids.

Treat hemorrhoids with topical steroid preparations, in cream or suppository form, and stool softeners. Frequent warm soaks in the tub keep the area clean and provide additional relief. Chronic sufferers should avoid prolonged straining and sitting, and choose a diet high in fiber to avoid constipation. Bulking agents such as Metamucil or Citrucel may help you stay regular.

Here is one of most popular natural treatment for hemorrhoid from David Gardner. His Defeat Hemorrhoids in 3 Easy Steps has been helping hundreds of people to get rid of their annoying hemorrhoids.

How can you defeat hemorrhoids? Today, there are lots of treatments available, with surgery as the last option. It ranges from medications which provide pain relief, warm baths as well as ice packs give the same results too. Internal hemorrhoids can be relieved by a high fiber diet and consumption of adequate amounts of water. External hemorrhoids meanwhile can be relieved by topical applications and diet change as well. Books like Defeat Hemorrhoids can also be considered.

I have come across different alternatives to hemorrhoids, but one alternative stood out. It is indeed the book Defeat Hemorrhoids by David Gardner. He once suffered hemorrhoids which encouraged him to do more research on this topic and he has come up with 3 easy steps to get rid of hemorrhoids permanently.

People nowadays seek for alternative treatments. Some reasons may be because conventional treatments like medications, creams, or surgery may not be working for them. It may provide relief and treatment but after a while goes back. David Gardner’s system “Defeat Hemorrhoids in 3 Easy Steps” is a better alternative. It aims in providing faster and long term results rather than temporary relief of hemorrhoids. The book is like a guide in understanding better Hemorrhoids, the causes, signs and symptoms, factors that predispose one to it, treatments, and remedies. You will also discover why conventional treatments doesn’t work for you, ways to have a regular bowel movement, what a simple exercise can do and how vital diet and water is to the treatment of hemorrhoids.

The book “Defeat Hemorrhoids in 3 Easy Steps” which is a 60 plus pages manual is such an informative and amazing guide. It also features Do it yourself home remedies, Ancient Chinese and Natural Treatments, review of proprietary medicines. It provides not only physical treatment, but also teaches you how live a good healthy lifestyle, how to choose your diet and the importance of exercise in our daily lives. It is a fully integrated guide to a hemorrhoid free life.

Thank you David Gardner for these 3 easy steps to defeat hemorrhoids and help people a fast Hemorrhoid Pain Relief, you did not only taught and helped other people to treat hemorrhoids but you also enlightened everyone how to be cautious of what goes into their body, how to take care of our health and what are the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.

The line of Preparation H Products is fairly extensive and includes products such as ointments, creams, suppositories, gels, and wipes. All of the latter products are used for the successful treatment and care of hemorrhoidal conditions. Here we examine what Preparation H Hemorrhoidal Ointment contains, its beneficial uses, and any disadvantages associated with its use.

Ingredients:

Preparation H Ointment: at the time of writing this product contains four different active ingredients including:

14% Light Mineral Oil

71.9% Petrolatum

25% Phenylephrine HCl

3% Shark Liver Oil
The Phenylephrine contained within Preparation H ointment is considered a vasoconstrictor: this helps to minimize swelling of veins and capillaries, and therefore significantly reduces the inflammation, swelling, pain, and itchiness that an individual develops when he or she develops hemorrhoidal formations. This product can be successfully used to help shrink hemorrhoids, and to alleviate any significant anorectal discomfort.

It should be noted by the consumer that this product is meant for the treatment of the anorectal/intrarectal area only, and the product should not be used on other parts of the body, as it is not recommended for such use.

Product Use:

To use Preparation H ointment, one must clean the entire anal rectal area before the product can be used. The product can safely be applied to the region affected as many as four times per day, and the manufacturers of the product recommend that after each bowel movement the consumer use the product as well as in the morning and in the evening.

The product comes with a special applicator so that the consumer can treat the intrarectal area: however, some consumers may be rather uncomfortable with doing so. Preparation H suppositories are also used to treat the interior anorectal region, but again, there are individuals that we preferred to avoid the use of such products if at all possible to do so.

Some consumers prefer to take herbal remedies for hemorrhoid conditions rather than having to deal with ointments and/or creams, as are those offered in the product line like Preparation H. Suppositories and intrarectal ointments can be somewhat uncomfortable to apply for some individuals, and for other individuals the use of creams and suppositories is simply too problematic and bothersome. Preparation H products tend to deliver onto the consumer far faster results in terms of relief when treating hemorrhoidal conditions when compared to the relief one derives from the use of hemorrhoid herbal remedies.

Notes on the Use of Preparation H:

Children younger than the age of 12 and pregnant women should not use Preparation H unless otherwise advised by a qualified medical professional. Any individual that has health issues like hypertension, thyroid disorders, diabetes, and/or heart disease should consult a physician before this product is utilized as well. This product may be safely use for a period of seven days for the treatment of hemorrhoids, but the consumer should note that if he or she does not experience any kind of relief after seven day’s time, it is again recommended that he or she visit a physician for an evaluation.

What are hemorrhoids? Well, for many people they are a real pain in the backside, that’s for sure. But to be more precise, Hemorrhoids refer to swellings and inflammation of veins that are located in the rectum and anus.

They are actually mass of tissues infused with blood vessels which if not attended to on time will cause itching, bleeding and in extreme cases severe pain. The bowel movements are hampered and the patient goes through a lot of discomfort.

What Causes Hemorrhoids

Besides knowing what hemorrhoids are, if you want to get rid of them, it is essential to know what causes them. The primary cause is constipation. This anomaly is particularly evident in women, as a fall out of water retention during menstruation. Excessive exertion from bowel movement is therefore a primary cause.

Hypertension is another major reason, which strains the link between the vena cava and the portal vein in the rectal wall. Obesity, prolonged sitting, poor posture and muscle tone that create undue pressure in the rectal area will lead to hemorrhoids. Pregnant women with hypertension are prone to it. Consumption of caffeine and even alcohol can help cause it.

Hemorrhoids Misdiagnoses

Hemorrhoids must not be confused with fistulae or fissures though they exhibit similar symptoms. Hemorrhoids are normally temporary and not fatal. They disappear through proper treatment. The symptoms too are not always apparent. You may notice blood in your stools and sense itching and pain. In such a case of ‘thrombosed hemorrhoids’, the patient will find a stiff lump in the anus.

The Importance of Healthy Diet and Exercise

Vitamin E deficiency and lack of fluid along with excess intake of dairy products are responsible for hemorrhoids. However ‘probiotic’ food like yogurt may prevent inflammation. Since internal hemorrhoids occur inside the rectum and are not painful, the patient may not even be aware of it. However irritation may cause it to bleed.

By exercising, increasing fluid and fiber intake, and correcting posture one can prevent hemorrhoids. Use of laxatives and wearing of tight underwear will aggravate the condition. Women should increase their intake of fluids and dietary fiber just before menstruation. The use of squat toilets also brings relief.

Approach to hemorrhoids varies from person-to-person and even culture-to-culture. To many, hemorrhoids are temporary. Mild and homely treatments are enough. Bidet, warm bath, analgesic are used for relief.
In the case of external hemorrhoids a warm compress can be applied which causes the rectal area to relax. Treating Hemorrhoids, in the early stages, with medicated cream proves beneficial. You might want to avoid steroid preparations, as they may aggravate the condition. The affected area should be kept dry and clean with adequate lubrication. Suppositories will also help.

Natural or herbal remedies should be tried under proper guidance to avoid drug interaction. Use of horse chestnut, witch hazel, aloe vera, Japanese pagoda plant extracts, and honey has proved to be effective. Consumption of plantain, seed husks, chamomile tea is encouraged for soft stool. Surgical treatments for Hemorrhoids include ‘Galvanic electrotherapy, rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, cryosurgery etc.

Just knowing the answer to the question, what are hemorrhoids is not enough. A thorough knowledge of its causes is essential if one intends to avoid it.

When you suffer from hemorrhoids there are basically two types of hemorrhoids: internal or external. Both can be uncomfortable but there are ways that you can fix the problem. There are also several degrees of hemorrhoids that will be explained in this article.

Internal hemorrhoids usually are not noticeable when they are small and when there is no pain. They may bleed and you will see this blood in several different ways. You will see it when you wipe yourself, there may be a little blood on the toilet seat or you might see some on the surface of your feces when you look into the toilet or in your underwear.

Because most people are told that if they find bleeding it is a reason to panic, most people will panic when they see this blood. However it often looks worse than it is. Sometimes they will also be prolapsed which means they might protrude out of the anus. This will usually mean that you will need someone to help you push them back in.

Types of Internal Hemorrhoids

Usually there are four ways that an internal hemorrhoid will present itself. Here are the most common ways:

First degree — This type of hemorrhoid will bulge into the anal canal when a person has a bowel movement. This often happens when they are straining to go.

Second degree — this one bulges out of the anus during a bowel movement then retract when it is finished.

Third degree — this type of internal hemorrhoid doesn’t retract on its own and will need a finger to push it back in.

Fourth degree — this is a protruding hemorrhoid that does not retract on its own and that you cannot replace into the anus. Sometimes these are very painful and a physician will have to perform surgery for relief.

External Hemorrhoids

External hemorrhoids come because of the veins that are centered around the anus. This is the type that is very itchy and can sometimes have a burning sensation. Some people also experience a cracking in them and bleeding. Again, you will see the bleeding on the toilet paper after your bowel movement, in your underwear or in the toilet.

How You Know if You have a Hemorrhoid

Although you probably won’t know whether you have a hemorrhoid in most cases there are a few symptoms. You will experience a burning or itchy feeling after a bowel movement even after you have wiped. You may also feel an aching in the anus after a particularly painful release of feces. You might feel a lump outside or inside the anus that is hard and fleshy or you may see the bright red blood that we have mentioned.

The best way to prevent types of hemorrhoids is to make sure that you drink plenty of water or other liquid to keep your body well hydrated and exercise. Add a healthy diet of vegetables and fruits to this and you will make sure you have softer bowel movements.
