Longevity Pillars of Life Extension

The Secrets of Longevity have been a quest by many people for aeons of time. There are pockets of the world’s population where people live much longer than the longevity nations (China, Japan, Korea) such as the Hunzas in the Himalayas, the Vilcambas in the Andes, the Abkhasians and Georgians on the Black Sea, the East Indian Todas and the Yucatan Indians. Researchers tracking cultures living the longest have found that its not unusual for these peoples to live a life of quality. Work and play beyond 80 years and beyond is typical. A majority, attain 100 years remaining active and honored by all they live with. Here are the longevity habits of these people.

THE 7 PILLARS TO A LONGER, HEALTHIER LIFE

  1. SLEEP

Sleep more, age less…Sleep is not an optional activity. Essential for a sustainable immune system, sleep is as basic as food and water.

Any book dedicated to the topic of aging will cite the necessity for enough sleep, which is 7-9 hours.

There is a strong relationship between deep sleep and the release of Growth Hormone. During restful sleep, adults receive the greatest amount of HGH secretion.

Sleep disturbances usually stem from 1) deficient adrenals and kidneys (need energy to sleep), 2) high blood pressure spike at 3AM, 3) damp-obstruction in the throat (blocks airways) snoring, semi-wakefulness , 4) excess heat rising from the liver which causes alert status, head heat and headache and 5) excess urination which wakes the person thus not allowing deep REM sleep

2. STRESS REDUCTION

You cannot deny the health benefits of stress reduction.

Good stress management slows aging and prevent disease.

Dr. Paul E. Lemanski (Albany Medical College( writes, ‘Stress causes the release of ‘fight or flight’ hormones which increase blood flow to our large muscles, increase our heart rate, respirations and blood pressure, and decreases blood flow to the gastrointestinal tract including the saliva glands.

Sleep disturbances usually stem from 1) high blood pressure spiking at 3AM,  2) Deficient adrenals and kidneys (need energy to sleep), 3)

3. EXERCISE

In ’Successful Aging’ (1998) a study on aging in America, which had begin in 1987, showed that almost all healthy seniors had been physically active throughout their life.

Dr. Andrew Weil, a well-known proponent of alternative or complementary medicine and the author of, ‘Healthy Aging’, supports the idea that up until modern times, humans have almost always been physically active, simply by surviving off the land. Today we work off computers. Most important, we all need to exercise regularly. Yes, walking counts, if done briskly.

4. NUTRITION

We all know the importance of good nutrition and a balanced diet. But which diet? The best history of longevity is held by the Hunzakuts of the Pakastani Himalayas. Here the longevity people exceed a century of living. They practice these health pillars, exceptionally, and more. They eat 3/5 the calories as those in industrialized society, drink 40 cups of water with chunks of Himalyan mineral salt daily, work 12 hours a day then play, take long 20 mile treks or hike up the mountin side, meditate many times in the day, etc.  Their diet consists of fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains and a little goat or Yak meat every couple of weeks, drink home made “Pani” wine (weak) and goat milk. Their great secret is that they don’t waste their waste. They put all animal and human elimination and garbage back into the soil as compared to industrial society where all all elimination goes down the drain to public works depts.and released in garbage dumps. The problem here is that our soil is depleted and their soil and crop can defend itself without the use of pesticide and nutrients.

5. WATER

Like that of nutrition, lots can be said and studies can be cited all day long as to which type of water is best for us. One thing is for sure however. Drinking enough water on a daily basis is essential for proper elimination and detoxification. I have found that water in plastic containers is very acidic which results in an inflammatory state. City water is in healthy acid/alkaline ranges but still has too much chlorine. I suggest putting a filter on the tap and shower head. Less acid and chlorine.

6. SUPPLEMENTATION

With all the nutritional research, it is difficult to win an argument negating the benefits of supplementation given the deficiencies of our farming soil. However, if one were to source natural crop supplementation, they would be better off. This is hard to come by because it takes extra knowledge to provide for yourself and you need to take the time to grow your crop. But, if you are are desiring longevity then I would begin the search for an urban community garden or acquire land to produce yourself.

Our top researchers, scientists and medicial professionals know connection between food-nutrient deficiencies and the diseases which plague the human body.

Since our soil is mineral deficient, effective supplementation based on plant nutrients is crucial. Longevity herbal is a beneficial natural source of highly mineralized, vitaminized food. Besides the health engendering alkalods contained there are dense nutrients which provides the human body the potential for correction. The key is the knowledge of the practitioner and chooser of the herbs essential for balance to be achieved.

7. POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

In the work called “The Secret” and many studies before, a positive belief in oneself, one’s vision, having supportive people to hold you to the task and believing in you, recognizing when you are off-course and positively course correcting will greatly minimize stress, affect others to be positive and reflect back positivity.

There are, of course, other pillars to support a long and healthy life, but these are what we consider the most fundamental. More in-depth information can be found at “Secrets of Longevity“

Here is your warning about vitamin c creams. These creams can be incredibly powerful. The wrinkle products that work the best are the vitamin C creams. Many cannot even be obtained without a prescription because they contain some hard-hitting vitamin technology that should be supervised by a doctor.

So this type of hard-hitting treatment seems very attractive. If you want to really see a difference pretty fast then you should add a vitamin C cream to your daily beauty routine. Just remember if you decide to use a vitamin C cream that it becomes a serious commitment. You and your skin deserve to use such a great working cream.

Vitamin C cream is one of the best treatments for wrinkles. Be careful and always follow the directions. Here are a few ways to get the most out of your vitamin C cream treatments:

• Drink plenty of water
Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. Also make sure that your skin is getting enough to “drink.” Vitamin C creams are known to make your skin flush or flake off. You should have some of the best moisturizers available so you can apply it daily.

• Note the results carefully
Vitamin C creams can affect you differently than it affects other people. You might feel a slight tingle in your skin or you could even feel it tightening. Of course, others will get flushed or encounter some form of inflammation. Watch your face carefully after the application. If you believe you have a problem you should contact the manufacturer as soon as possible.

• Follow the directions carefully
You might decide its okay to use more vitamin C cream than recommended just to get much quicker results. Because this can result in your skin getting inflamed. Stick with the plan.

Researchers who want to make a difference are making vitamin C creams. A much accoladed professor of chemistry developed a skin care cream that is probably the best on the market. There is no arguing with her. If you want the best results, simply follow the directions.

If your skin is seriously damaged, you may want to try Vitamin C cream. Use vitamin C creams with respect and you will start seeing changes in no time.

How to Know if the Time has Come for Vitamin A Treatments

A significant part of wrinkle cream is vitamin A. Of course, each product will want you to believe that its the best at smoothing away wrinkles. Actually, a lot of the use sneaky tricks to make you believe that they are working. These include adding small pieces of glitter to wrinkle removing creams. Glitter will actually cast the light out of the creases in your skin. This gives the illusion that your wrinkles have completely disappeared. So if you use these creams containing glitter, you will watch your money go down the drain when you wash your face.

If you are playing the anti-aging game for keeps, then you need to know about vitamin A. Retinol is vitamin A. Wrinkles will disappear with regular use. This process can take a few days or even a week or two. You should be worried. You will see a change soon enough.

Retinol actually causes your skin to stay elastic. Moreover, when using skin care products that contain retinol you skin will retain moisture. If you use enough it can even “plump” your wrinkles so that they are stretched tight and smoothed out.

Before using retinol you need to know of al the associated complications. The biggest complication would be sun sensitivity. Whether you are taking vitamin A or using it topically, it can make you extremely sensitive to the sun. You will burn more easily on sunny days if you go outside for very long. Of course, if you are worried about fighting wrinkles then you have no business outside without a sunblock on your face anyway!

In addition, vitamin A has the potential to cause problems for those people with very sensitive skin. Common effects (other than the disappearance of wrinkles) are breakouts and dry skin. These are the results you usually get if you use to much of the vitamin A treatments. If you are worried, then test your vitamin A product on the inside of your elbow. Place a small dab on there twice a day for a week. If there is no redness or inflammation, you should be okay. However, watch your skin and pay attention to the way it feels and looks to be sure that you are in good shape.

I have one more warning. You should follow the directions exactly. Vitamin A is not for people who just want to slather on any old moisturizer and feel good about “protecting” their skin. Its for those who who don’t mess around when it comes to their skin care regimen. Vitamin A can permanently erase wrinkles in many cases, so make sure that you are using it to get the best effects possible.

Makeup Minerals and What They Do for You

Makeup minerals can be confusing. Everybody has been looking for good natural mineral makeup due to all the coverage its been getting. Nevertheless, not all makeup minerals are that great. Some of the most popular are totally ineffective. They could really cause some serious skin problems.

We all want to get the most out of our mineral makeup. But, they probably shouldn’t switch all their makeup over to mineral makeup. Earth minerals may be what they are looking for. Or maybe its just for the anti-aging benefits. They may just want to keep away from makeup minerals that may cause problems.

You need to understand the ramifications of the mineral content of your makeup. Below is a brief list of makeup minerals. The list will help you to fully understand your makeup’s ingredients.

• Zinc and zinc oxide
These are common in pure mineral products. They are natural sunscreens. They will also be a great help in smoothing out your features while hiding wrinkles. In there pure form, they will not hurt your skin.

• Titanium dioxide
In most mineral makeups this is a common ingredient. It will even out flaws in your complexion. When added to mineral makeup, it has also been know to help alleviate acne and rosacea. However, it can also be mixed with artificial ingredients that may make the end result less hypoallergenic.

• Mica
The anti-aging mineral that is added to these natural makeups is Mica. Look for this mineral when buying your pure mineral makeup. It averts the eyes away from your skin irregularities. The mica that is in this makeup is crushed so tiny so that you don’t look like you are wearing glitter. You can also find it in many non-mineral makeup anti-aging and camouflaging products.

• Bismuth
Bismuth is controversial. It is a natural mineral. But it has to be processed in order for it to be used in makeup. It is very hard to just grind this mineral into a powder. Some even claim that it should not even count as a pure mineral. Users tend to really love the “glow” that it creates. However, if you tend to sweat or have sensitive skin you may not want to use mineral makeups containing this mineral, as it will make you itch.

• Talc
One of the most often used minerals is talc. It has long been used in consmetics. However, people are actually allergic to this pure mineral. This mineral is mainly used as a filler. If you use conventional makeup, then you likely use some talc. This mineral is a common allergen so it is quite often left out of pure mineral makeup products.
