Do you ever go for any alternative health treatments such as reiki or a massage? I am, of course, unsure as to how you would have answered this question however I would imagine that most of you will have done so in the positive. I am a new convert to all things “alternative” and I have to say that my only regret is that I did not give them a go far sooner than I did.

Please note that I am not trying to sell you anything here; I am not an alternative health practitioner. I actually help people to “stuttering” and I also work on projects offering training for foster carers and cost reduction.

My girlfriend was the person that first introduced me to alternative therapy. She noticed that I was rather stuck my ways and decided to buy me a forty minute Indian head massage treatment for my birthday. To say I was shocked would have been a huge under-statement; it was the type of situation when you ask yourself:

“What has she bought me this for?”

“She obviously does not know me as well as I thought she did!”

I pretended, of course, that I was thrilled with the idea!

The day of the treatment soon arrived and I headed off to the natural health centre. My girlfriend could no doubt sense my apprehension as we entered into the building even though I was attempting to act cool.

In the end I decided to make the most of it; I was not going to scared; in fact I was going to fully relax and enjoy it.

Scared! What is there to be scared of? Absolutely nothing is the answer to that question.

The treatment itself was amazing; I nearly fell asleep at one point. I have since been back on a regular basis and have even tried other natural health treatments. I must admit that these are now the way in which I treat myself; it sure is a good life.

The Benefits Of Aromatherapy Massage

The use of alternative forms of therapy and medication is not new to humans. These days, alternative medicine is again taking up a lot of space in the minds of people who seek treatments and cures for their ailments without the use of traditional medication or drugs. The drive to look for something safer for one’s body is commendable for people who wish to change and improve their state. As far as aromatherapy is concerned there are various sub branches like toddler aromatherapy, natural sense aromatherapy, aromatherapy reiki and fertility aromatherapy to name a few. All these forms use aromatherapy massage in some form or other.

Aromatherapy massage is one such form of alternative treatment. Aromatherapy massage is actually two kinds of alternative therapy treatments. Aromatherapy as an art is different from massage therapy. The combination of aromatherapy massage is quite efficient in its given functions. Although there are not a lot of given functions for aromatherapy massage, its functions and its effects have been found to be a great way to relieve stress and anxiety as well as relieve aches and pains.

Relief And Treatment With Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage helps to relieve muscle pains and aches with the massage being the more focused therapy. The kneading and deep tissue penetration of the masseuses’ hands play an instrumental role in resolving the tension of the day. Massage plays an instrumental part in loosening stress burdened tight and weary muscles. Some forms of aromatherapy massage combines stretching and heat for better relief from muscular aches and pains.

This does not however mean that aromatherapy does not play a role in the relief of muscle pains and aches. In aromatherapy massage, the use of aromatherapy massage oil or aromatherapy candles can help to relax an individual being massaged. The role of scents and fragrances is quite pronounced during aromatherapy massage.

Many different kinds of herbal essences, scents and fragrances have the properties to help heal a person both physically and mentally. Aromatherapy massage helps to incorporate both the positive relief brought by massage with the positive relief brought by aromatherapy. These properties are derived from the herbs and other botanicals that have been found to have medicinal properties. Many of the properties of herbs and botanicals are diffused into the air through candle burners, diffusers and other methods of getting the scent into the air.

Aromatherapy massage is advantageous in the sense that, depending on the fragrance, it can ease a tense person, soothe his or her aches and pains, improve the ambiance or mood or the place or person and help to promote a better physical state. Mental clarity and peace of mind are among the many benefits that one gets from aromatherapy massage.

OK, so you have tried the more traditional forms of speech and language therapy in your quest to eradicate your stutter but despite your best efforts it has not helped you to achieve your goal of fluency. So what are your options now? Where now should or could you turn to continue your attempts to stop stuttering?

Well before I start to write about some potential answers to the above questions I should really introduce myself. I am Steve Hill, a speech coach from England. I am not a speech therapist and nor do I want to be one. I offer an alternative therapy for stuttering and one that works.

I started to stutter when I was a four year old; there was no real trigger or reason as to why it had developed. I attended speech and language therapy via my local hospital. It was of use, possibly even of benefit, however it never really offered me the solutions to stammering/stuttering that I was looking for.

Despite most of the speech therapists being very nice people it was if they had not received the adequate level of training.

There was one especially frustrating moment when I was speaking with a not so nice speech therapist. He told me that there was not a cure for stammering/stuttering. I replied:

“Fair enough. So how are you of the speech and language profession as a whole getting on in finding a cure?”

Speech therapist:

“Ermm, well nothing”

Me

“OK, that’s all very positive! NOT!”

For me the above example summed up my experience of speech therapy.

I was eventually able to realise my dream of overcoming my stutter when I was aged 22 and as a career I now help other people to achieve fluency.

As stated earlier I offer the alternative therapy for stammering and stuttering.

I have a website at http://www.stutter-cure.com which has information about the types of therapy that I offer.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

The Complementary Therapist & Therapy Guide

What is complimentary therapy? Is complimentary therapy beneficial or just some type of scam? How expensive is complimentary therapy? In this article I will be answering these questions in my own mini guide to complimentary therapy.

Gone are the days when complimentary therapy was just something that hippies tried, that was back in the nineteen sixties. It is now actually quite hip and trendy to attend these types of treatments and what’s more they do work.

Complementary therapy is various treatments that offer an alternative to the normal forms of health therapy as well as complementing them.

I personally prefer the alternative treatment of what is called an Indian Head Massage. Even though I am very happy it has to be said that I lead quite a hectic life. The stress that I have seems to come because of the hectic lifestyle that I seemingly have; this includes a busy work; family and social life. Having an Indian head massage once a month is a little treat for myself and is a chance for my muscles to become a little less tense.

I am by no way attempting to sell you anything here – you can be assured of this. I also do not work within the alternative therapy sector; I actually offer various form of stammering treatment, affordable guitar lessons for beginners and I also work within the catering supplies UK industry – a bit of a mixed bag in reality. With regards to complementary therapy I have just found it be extremely beneficial and thought I would share my experiences with the readers of this article.

I also attend, perhaps once every three months, a reflexology treatment. I was not really sure whether I would like this form of complementary therapy due to the fact that a person would have to touch my feet. I have to say that it was in fact quite incredible and I felt superb afterwards.

As for cost, I personally feel that it is quite cheap, an Indian head massage at my local natural health centre is only £25, this is for a treatment which lasts about an hour.

As a final thought, another treatment that I have heard is very very good is an aromatherapy massage; I am booked in for one of these next week and will let you know how it goes.

Do you ever go for any alternative health treatments such as reiki or a massage? Now I would guess that the majority of the readers of this article would have answered this question in the positive. I am a new convert to all things “alternative” and I have to say that my only regret is that I did not give them a go far sooner than I did.

Please note that I am not trying to sell you anything here; I am not an alternative health practitioner. I actually help people to “stuttering” and I also work on projects to do with helping people to learn how to play the guitar and catering supplies UK.

My girlfriend was the person that first introduced me to alternative therapy. The day of the treatment soon arrived and I headed off to the natural health centre. As we walked into the centre I was trying to act quite cool; my girlfiend confirmed later that she knew that I was rather nervous about the whole thing.

This is certainly the way that I know like to live my life; it works for me.
